Check out the Doc I just finished about the Texas 200.

The name of the documentary is "Two Hundred Miles in a 15 Foot boat". Just put that in the youtube search engine if the link does not work. Thanks for viewing!
John, When did you source the back up plates you installed under the cabin ceiling for the cheek blocks and clam cleats? The plates appear as some kind of carbon fiber. Thank, Jeff Georgetown, Tx
Hey Jeff, I was having trouble finding stainless steel backing plates so I went with the carbon fiber. It looks great and is a lot easier to work with than stainless. I bought a plate from these guys: http://dragonplate.com/ecart/categories.asp?cID=261 It comes refinished.
Hey John, Have you considered a Bimini top? I'm beginning to formulate ideas to either build or modify a commercial top for my boat. I believe this is the key to surviving the T200 and sailing in the Texas summer sun. What do you think of the Bimini idea? Jeff
I think a Bimini would be great. It gets really hot during the 200. I spent a little time time trying to figure out the best way to do it. The problem I see is figuring out a way to clear the main sheet to the traveler connection. Maybe it could be routed behind the boom gallows? If you com up with something let me know.
